Tips for Protecting New Grass

Next, it’s important to keep your new lawn watered to help its root system become established in the soil. Water your sod generously to start, gradually decreasing the amount as the grass grows and you become familiar with its water needs.

Finally, your new grass will need to be mowed a few weeks following sod installation. Wait until your grass reaches 3 inches in length before you mow, and never remove more than a third of the grass’ length at one time.
